Frequently Asked Questions
01
Does HPi teach team tactics?
Short Answer: No
Long Answer: We believe HPi principles can (and should) be implemented when utilizing whatever "tactics" your agency uses. HPi courses are not intended to teach a new tactic or SOP for your agency to adopt. Our courses build a framework on how to better understand the human bodies ability to process information and establish a good foundation through biomechanics to better serve your agencies trainings.
02
How did HPi Training come into existence?
Human performance is a domain in which law enforcement has been slow to adapt. Much of the training we do on the range is geared towards improving peoples "skills". This is absolutely necessary because it too is a fundamental piece to high performers. But HPi saw a need for agencies to take into account the "human factor" in their training. We offer a unique perspective from a sports science lens and teach ways to improve decisional movements we encounter in the field.
03
Does HPi do private courses for LE agencies?
Yes. Please fill out the hosting form at the bottom of the home page and ask to have a private course just for your agency. If you wish to host a class where outside agencies can also attend, you will be given 1-2 free spots depending on the class size.
04
What is the class size for your courses?
Depending on the number of instructors available, we try and keep the class size to a maximum of 15. HPi courses are both physically and mentally demanding. The ciriculum includes both extensive congnitive processing and high physical output. To make sure there is good individual analysis, we want a smaller size class to make sure everyone gets an opportunity for a detailed breakdown of their movements.
05
Where is HPi based out of?
HPi Training is headquartered in western Colorado but has gained interest across the country. Classes can be offered in all regions of the Unites States.
06
I had something come up and I can't make my course. Can I get a refund?
We get that "life" happens. As long as the request to cancel is 3 weeks prior to the start date of the class, you will receive a full refund (minus transaction fees). If you cancel within 3 weeks of the class being held, we will offer a voucher to another identical course in the future. This timing allows for HPi to backfill your spot with the students on the wait list.
